Hi I’m Jaime.

I have Audhd, I am an author, a mental health educator, a mom of 3 and I love ravens, crows and all things spooky!

I am the founder of Divergent Mental Health Counseling.

I strive to model authenticity to my clients as I believe that is a core element to the healing process. So many of the things you will experience in this practice is founded in the belief that healing can only occur when we are unmasked and find safety.
When we see our peers, our mentors and the professionals in our lives show up for us in an authentic way, real trust and growth can occur.

After working in the severe mental health sector as an inpatient therapist and the developmental disabilities populations for years,
I decided to open my own private practice. Taking my knowledge of trauma informed care, I specialized in relationship recovery and complex trauma. I then wrote a book called, Toxic Relationship Recovery but I knew that wasn’t the only population that needed help. The issues I saw in my practice helped me understand something was missing. The more I dug into the complexities of my clients I realized our community had an unmet need- Neurodivergence.

I found late diagnosed neurodivergent folks were often left unheard, unvalidated and harmed by the psychological community. This is where the idea of Divergent Mental Health Counseling was born.

This community is alternative healing for alternative minds
(or as I like to say complex, vibrant minds!)

We are a group of clinicians that are dedicated to understanding your lived experience and meet the vibrant minds inside this community. Our mission is to build community, build up identities that were destroyed by previous encounters of the mental health system and re-imagine what the healing journey looks like for folks with complex trauma and/or neurodivergents.
Being Audhd allows me to use that creativity to integrate new ideas and new therapeutic interventions that create space for tremendous growth.
